Muscle Testing
-
Muscle testing is a form of biofeedback that uses subtle changes in muscle response to assess how the body responds to different inputs, stressors and types of support. My training is in how to interpret that feedback.
Rather than looking at symptoms in isolation, it gives me another way to explore what may be happening beneath the surface and what the individual body is responding to.
At its core, the philosophy is simple: every body is different. Two people can experience nearly identical symptoms while the underlying patterns and the support they respond to can look completely different.
Muscle testing is one of the modalities I use alongside functional lab work, health history and symptoms to build a more complete picture of what may be going on and what may be a priority for that individual.
-
The muscle responses I gather during a session give me feedback about what may be contributing to how someone is feeling and what their body appears to be responding to at that particular point in time.
For example, two people may both come to me experiencing extreme fatigue, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the same thing is driving it. Muscle testing allows me to explore whether different stressors or areas of the body may be showing up as priorities for each person individually, and what types of support their body appears to respond to.
And because the body isn’t static, we continue to reassess. What appears to be a priority today may not be the priority several weeks from now.
It gives me another way to ask: What is this particular body responding to? Where might there be stress? What appears to be a priority right now? And how does that change as we continue working together?
Your symptoms may be common, but your protocol shouldn’t be.

Because my practice is virtual, I use a surrogate testing method. Rather than physically testing your muscle, I act as the surrogate and use my own body as the testing medium on your behalf.
Remote testing is based on the concept of the biofield, an energetic field associated with and surrounding the body. With the client’s permission and a clear intention to connect, I attune to that individual while performing self-muscle testing.
You can think of it a little like tuning a radio or making a phone call. I’m not becoming the other person. I’m establishing a specific connection and tuning into that individual’s signal. I then use changes in my own muscle response as the feedback mechanism throughout the testing process.
During testing, I begin with the nervous system and move through different body systems, looking for potential stressors and areas of priority. From there, I test different types of support to understand what the body appears to be responding to.
The biofield is an area of ongoing research, and the specific mechanism behind remote muscle testing is still being explored. Concepts such as resonance and energetic connection offer frameworks for understanding what practitioners observe in practice.
Working Together
-
All sessions are held virtually. We’ll start by checking in on how you’ve been feeling, what has changed since our last session and anything new that has come up.
From there, I perform the muscle testing on my end while you relax and we talk through what I’m assessing. We’ll review your results together, discuss any relevant lab findings and make updates to your personalized protocol as needed. You don’t need any special equipment or setup on your end.
-
Absolutely. My work is designed to complement, not replace, the care you receive from your physician or other licensed medical providers.
Many clients continue working with their doctors while working with me. I focus on a different piece of the puzzle through your health history, symptoms, functional labs, muscle testing and personalized support, while medical diagnosis, treatment and medication management remain with your licensed medical provider.
-
Absolutely. I never ask clients to stop, change or adjust prescribed medications. Any medication changes should always be discussed with the provider who prescribed them.
We’ll still look at everything you’re currently taking, including medications and supplements, so I have the full picture when building your personalized plan.
-
No! We’ll start by looking at what you’re currently taking and why. From there, I’ll use your health history, symptoms, functional labs and muscle testing to help determine what makes sense to keep, adjust or revisit as we build your personalized protocol.
-
No. My approach isn’t built around giving you another restrictive set of food rules to follow, and I don’t provide nutritional or dietary protocols as part of my work.
Instead, we focus on understanding the bigger picture of what may be contributing to how you feel and creating a personalized, manageable plan around the areas I support, including functional lab work, supplements, detoxification and lifestyle support.
About in·depth
-
Yes! Functional lab testing is included as part of in·depth.
We’ll determine which testing makes the most sense based on your health history, symptoms and what comes up through muscle testing. Once your results are back, I’ll walk you through what we’re seeing and, most importantly, how it fits into the bigger picture.
The goal isn’t just to hand you a lab report. It’s to connect the dots between your results, your symptoms and what your body may need next.
-
Everything can be coordinated remotely. Once we determine which functional testing makes sense for you, your testing will be coordinated from wherever you are, with instructions for completing any necessary collection. Once your results are available, we’ll review them together and use what we learn to help guide the next steps in your protocol.
-
Detox is a core part of in·depth, but we don’t start there.
First, we move through the Foundation phase, focusing on foundational nutrients, supporting drainage pathways and preparing your body for deeper work. Once that foundation is in place, we move into targeted detox support based on your individual findings, health history, functional labs, muscle testing and how your body is responding along the way.
From there, the goal is to eventually transition into Maintenance, where we simplify your protocol and space support farther apart.
-
in·depth includes 10 personalized 1:1 sessions. That’s intentional. We’re not trying to solve years of symptoms in one appointment, and you shouldn’t have to figure it all out on your own after a single visit.
We typically meet weekly for the first 3 to 4 sessions during the Foundation phase, then every 2 to 3 weeks during Detox, and monthly or further apart as we move into Maintenance.
Everyone moves at a slightly different pace, but you’ll always know where you are in the process. It’s a clear path with a defined end point, not an open-ended commitment.
-
That’s completely understandable, and you’re not alone. Many clients come to me after trying supplements, protocols or other practitioners that may have helped a little but didn’t get them all the way there.
I can’t promise a specific outcome, and I won’t pretend there’s one perfect answer you just haven’t found yet. What I can promise is that we won’t be guessing. Your protocol is built around your body, and we reassess at every session. If something isn’t moving the way we’d hoped, we adjust rather than staying the course.
Improvement often happens in layers. That’s why we start by building your foundation before going deeper, and why in·depth is designed to give your body time to respond.
-
The goal isn’t to keep you forever.
At the end of your 10 sessions, we’ll look at where you started, the progress you’ve made and what your body may need moving forward.
Some clients feel ready to continue on their own, while others prefer occasional check-ins for continued support and adjustments. My goal is for you to leave with a much clearer understanding of your body and how to support it moving forward.

Possibly. in·well services may be HSA/FSA eligible depending on your plan. Because every plan is different, I can’t guarantee eligibility, so I recommend checking with your plan administrator before enrolling.
